scorch, when was he going to get a game if it wasn't tonight? he hasn't started a game for close to three weeks, and yarmolenko is probably more prone to a bad injury than antonio. diangana out on loan has limited the options, and it doesn't look like he rates holland who could have featured tonight

He could tear a hamstring at any time. But he tore in in a game where the debate is all about what players you might not wish to risk because we should have enough to win without them.
If it was Haller or Rice instead of Antonio, we’d be proper fucked. Luckily he popped them on the bench as he should have done.

no, you're the one saying 'it's only antonio'. i'd start him every game, but the manager hadn't picked him since the city game and even substituted him in that match. he can tear a hamstring any time

Sure it was 'only' Antonio, but he's been really good thus far- difference maker against Watford- and will now be a miss for sometime.

Back in the day we always played our strongest teams and more often than got beat by the the so the called smaller teams.Which suggests the our star players didn't fancy the battle.
Mixing it up a bit may work in our favour who knows.

i can see the logic of not wanting to risk Fabianski at this point in the season.
said before that i'd like to see the back 4 remain the same for the sake of continuity.
otherwise i'd expect Sanchez, Ajieti, Fornals and Yarmolenko to all start.
maybe a midfield 3 of Sanchez, Noble and Fornals.
